Lake County Race Series

What is it?

The series consists of four Lake County charity races with age-graded, cumulative scoring for the series.  There will be prize money in four Age Graded categories; Under 40 Men, Under 40 Women, 40+ Men, and 40+ Women.  Best of all, there is no additional fee for the series.

lakeCoRaceSeriesThe races are:
August 13; The GLASA 5K Twilight Run, Walk and Roll, Lake Forest

September 18; The Swinging Bridge 8K, Lake Forest Open Lands

October 22; The Red Ribbon 5k Race, Lake Forest

October 29; The Pumpkin Chase 5K, Lake Bluff

The Lake County Race Series will be open to all entrants of the four above races with no additional fee.  There are four Age Graded categories: Under 40 Men, Under 40 Women, 40+ Men, and 40+ Women using established Age Graded Calculators to determine adjusted times.  Ranking will be based on the approach of assigning 15 points to the top adjusted time for all runners in each category of each race, 14 for second, down to 1 point for 15th place.

The winners will be determined by the total number of points for the series.  Two races in the series must be completed to be eligible.  The best three out of four results will be used.

Cash prizes for the series will be awarded to the top three runners in the four categories after the last race results are tabulated.  The prizes are: $100, $75, and $50 for a total of $900 prize money.  There is no additional fee to join the series other than the regular entry fees for the individual races.  Registration is automatic with registration in any of the races.

Please join us for this exciting new race series.  This is a chance to compete with an adjustment for age.  Age is no excuse; show your stuff with an equalizer to make all ages competitive.

All of the races are major fundraisers for worthwhile local charities.  Please show your support.
